Air Removal Tests
To check whether the pre-vacuum of the sterilization process has gone well, so-called steam penetration or air removal tests are carried out. The purpose of these tests is to analyze whether there is an acceptable vacuum - and therefore air removal - that allows the sterilization medium to reach and sterilize the packaged medical devices. We have developed several solutions for this. These tests are Type 2 tests, as described in the ISO 11140-1 standard. Which type of test best suits the sterilization cycle depends on the size of the sterilizer, the type of sterilization cycle and the type of load (if applicable).
